I'm The Kinda Girl who.....

Everyone I follow has been posting this topic this week, and well I figured it would be fun to jump in on! So.... bring on the randomness.

  • I'm the kind of girl who can talk and talk and talk all day at work, but when she gets home can go hours with out talking.... (Yes its true)
  • I'm the kinda girl that loves to sit in fat pants(yoga pants) and watch movies on a Friday night and be completely content. We did this on my birthday after eating Grilled Cheese samwhich's! More on this tomorrow!
  • I am the girl who loves who she is and rarely wears make up. I maybe can count on one hand the amount of times I wore it last year. I have some, I just don't think women need it. Women are pretty the way they are, embrace yourself!
  • I am the girl who loves to say that this following picture is my FUR CHILD!!!
Displaying IMG957260.jpg

  • I'm the girl that loves her friends and family and loves them so much!
  • I am the girl who is afraid to die... Just because of the physical unknowns after...
  • I am the girl who loves to go shooting and hunting with my man!
  • I am a young woman who has Interstitial Cystitis
  • I'm the girl that has the best Furchild, and boyfriend a girl could ask for...

Life & Adventures In It....

Busy....

This is the word that we often think of when talking to other people, or when we have things to do, or even the excuse that people make to get out of doing projects, events, or just things in general.

I have always been one to keep myself occupied. Most of the time I have had at least two jobs going at once. So yes, I rarely have time for myself... but I have also never really known different.

So I guess this really shouldn't come as a shocker, however I am doing my normal 50-60 hours at my corporate job, plus I have been working shifts at one of the hotels to pick up hours. Normally this would not be an issue. However, I have decided to make myself smart, and I am trying to go back to school on top of all of this. This past week I worked normal, plus 5 shifts at the hotel, on top of a minimum of 5 hours spent dedicated to online classes! YIKES!

I am also trying to maintain the appearance of my so called humble home, and of course, give my undivided attention and love to this child of mine...

He loves his momma

I sit Handsome... now give me cookies!

Plus trying to keep up on my relationship with my boyfriend, and have a social life somewhere in between. So you may be asking what is the point and where is she getting at with the rambling?

My point is, no matter how busy life gets, make time to stop and smell the roses, take time see friends and family, make time to do things for you!

I have had to learn, If you don't say no, then everyone will just abuse and use you to do their work for them. I need sleep, and I need R&R time as much as everyone else.

So I hope that you can step away from social media, TV, blogs, books and life and enjoy the good things in life! I promise you that it will be worth every penny!

IC... The Basics.....

I have had some people ask me to explain and give information and facts that people can share to help raise awareness for IC.

So here it is, the facts about Interstitial Cystitis! Some maybe scary or windy, But they are cold hard facts.

IC or Painful Bladder Syndrome(PBS)  is a chronic condition and diagnosis of exclusion of unknown cause characterized by bladder pain. It may be associated with urinary urgency, urinary frequency, waking at night to urinate. Those with interstitial cystitis may have symptoms that overlap with other urinary bladder disorders such as: urinary tract infection (UTI), overactive bladder, urethritis, urethral syndrome, and prostatitis. IC/PBS in a quality of life comparable to that of a patient with rheumatoid arthritis, chronic cancer pain, or a patient on kidney dialysis. (thanks Wikipedia)

The cause of IC/PBS is unknown.

Most IC/PBS patients have damaged lining to their bladder, Which makes it difficult to urinate, more prone to infections, problems with intercourse, and sever pain.  On average, a healthy adult urinates no more than seven times a day and seldom needs to get up at night to use the bathroom. Someone with a severe case of IC, on the other hand, may urinate as frequently as 60 times in 24 hours, including multiple nighttime trips to the bathroom.

Types of IC/PBS, Currently there are two recognized subtypes of IC: non-ulcerative and ulcerative.
    • Non-ulcerative: 90% of IC patients have the non-ulcerative form of IC. Non-ulcerative IC presents with pinpoint hemorrhages, also known as glomerulations, in the bladder wall. However, these are not specific for IC and any inflammation of the bladder can give that appearance.
    • Ulcerative: 5 to 10% of IC patients have the ulcerative form of IC. These patients usually have Hunner's ulcers or patches, which are red, bleeding areas on the bladder wall.
Because there is no cure for interstitial cystitis, the goal of treatment is to relieve symptoms. Not everyone with IC responds the same way to the same treatment. What works for one person may not work for another. In addition, IC treatments generally take several weeks to several months to provide relief. When you discuss your treatment options with your doctor, your doctor will help you decide which one might work best for you.

The AUA Treatment Guidelines include a treatment protocol ranging from conservative treatments to more invasive interventions with lower numbers representing less invasive methods:
1. First-line treatments - Patient education, self care (diet modification), stress management
2. Second-line treatments - Physical therapy, oral medications (amitryptiline, cimetidine or hydroxyzine, pentosan polysulfate), bladder instillations (DMSO, heparin or lidocaine)
3. Third-line treatments - Treatment of Hunner's ulcers (laser, fulguration or triamcinolone injection), hydrodistention (low pressure, short duration)
4. Fourth-line treatments - Neuromodulation (sacral or pudendal nerve)
5. Fifth-line treatments - Cyclosporine A, Botulinum Toxin (BTX-A)
6. Sixth-line treatments - Surgical intervention (urinary diversion, augmentation, cystectomy)
I hope this helps Please let me know if you have questions.....

Getting to Know Me November... Day 2

Well hello there... If your reading this it means your into getting to know me more! Well Just sit your stalkerish- (Okay I doubt that's a word.) Butt down and we will just Smile and dish the details :)

Day Two is Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

  1. Believe it or not one of my most recent fears is Driving. Ever since I have had my interstim put in, I have been terrified of driving, I would rather be a passenger, even though it wouldn't make a difference. Since having this thing in, I was told a car accident would completely mess it up and make it to where I would need surgery ASAP to fix my wires and leads. So I am completely terrified of a car accident more than driving, however since they tie together I am just going to claim them as one!
  2. Second a fear of mine sadly enough is Dying. I know that sounds weird, and have had several people tell me things via scriptures and have had long conversations with Religious people. It still does not change the fact of what happens and if you can feel, talk, remember, touch and really what we don't have proof of what happens to you. I mean don't get me wrong I believe in GOD in all, but It just scares me. Fair enough?
  3. Third... I think is more of loosing those close loved ones. I have had so much change in my life, that really, I get close and something happens. Now I know some of my separation has been brought on choices made by me. However I am still scared of loved ones either passing, or just people walking out and loosing that love and friendship that has been built. It's also not easy with IC. IC makes you have anxiety attacks, It also causes you to realize who your true friends and loved ones are. Now that I know, I don't want to blink and have anyone I love and care about to be gone, whether it be friends, family, significant others, or just in general.
Now I know some of these may be silly, and most of them are newer. However I am not afraid of much, and things I am afraid of touch close to my heart. I hope you walk away knowing me a little bit more!
